Yet another Abbott-bashing blog

This is the first post in what is proposed to be yet another in the long line up of Abbott- and right-winger-bashing blogs out there.

What is the point, you may ask? Well, maybe there isn't any. I am aiming to chronicle the experiences and emotions of the average Labor voter from now until the next election.

Furthermore, I hope to do this from a Christian perspective. It makes me extremely happy to see my brothers and sisters starting to take action and speak up against the continued marginalisation and victimisation of the most vulnerable groups in our society. I am hoping that, by the next election, the Christian vote would have swung solidly away from the Coalition.

It is my belief that the Abbott government represents the nadir of Australian politics. It presents a view of society that is narrow-minded, encourages selfishness and an "all about me" attitude. Incidentally, these are all the things that, as Christians, we should shy away from.

Perhaps there isn't any point. But, hey, it's another voice calling people back to reason and to rediscover their humanity. Perhaps it will play some infinitesimal part in making a difference. Or perhaps no-one will ever read this stuff except for the author. But as Dave Lister from Red Dwarf said: "It will be a whole lot of fun finding out".
